Late in the first half, the Raptors were in for more injury concerns when Ibaka had an awkward landing in just 12 minutes after coming on to the court. He had to be assisted by his teammates to walk off the court.

It was confirmed after the game that Ibaka might have a severe ankle injury when Nurse said it was looking “pretty bad.”  Ibaka had eight points and six rebounds in his short stay.

Michael Grange of the Rogers Sportsnet reported that Ibaka might be out for 2-4 weeks.

Although Ibaka and Lowry did not feature in the second half, Raptors managed to win the game 122-104 on the back of their forward Pascal Siakam. He set a new career-high against the Pelicans with 44 points on an efficient 60.7% from the field, apart from contributing with 10 rebounds.

This was the sixth win for Toronto Raptors in their eight games so far this season. Once Kawhi Leonard left them this season, they might not have been the favourites to defend the Championship. However, they did have some hopes on the likes of Kyle Lowry, who is now set to be assessed before the next game.

Raptors’ match up against the man who led them to the 2018/19 championship will be coming up when they play Los Angeles Clippers after the immediate game against Los Angeles Lakers.
