Tottenham Hotspur Linked to Shock Transfer Move for Paulo Dybala & Philippe Coutinho

After a season of absolute zero involvement in the transfer market in the last season, UEFA Champions League runners up, Tottenham Hotspur, are reportedly looking for two blockbuster moves. They have already secured the likes of Tanguy Ndombele from French side Lyon, and are now linked to moves for Paulo Dybala from Juventus, and Phillippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona.

Paulo Dybala was earlier strongly linked to a move to Manchester United. Dybala’s playtime was affected with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo last season. Juventus will be playing under be new a new manger this season with the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, who has said that Dybal would not be in his plans. Many clubs were known to be interested in the Argentine playmaker, but the Old Lady’s reported interest in out of favour Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku created a speculation of a switch move for the two attackers. With reports of Juventus agreeing a deal with Lukaku emerging, the switch looked imminent. But in what came out as a shocking news, Sky Sports Italian correspondent Gianluca DI Marzio reported that Spurs are interested in the Argentine. The Guardian also reported that the English side are preparing a €70m (£64.4m) bid for Dybala.

Another big name that is not favoured by the club is Philippe Coutinho, who joined FC Barcelona 18 months ago in a worth a whopping €142 million. But he was soon found unsuitable to the Catalan’s system. Coutinho’s situation in Barcelona is now very unclear with no club reportedly ready to pay a good amount for the Brazilian. This brought out a speculation of a loan move for the former Liverpool man, which say the players agent contacting several clubs including Arsenal. But with Arsenal reportedly discarding the offer, Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful of signing Coutinho.

The Daily Mirror claim Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to land the Barcelona star to bolster his attacking ranks. Spurs will have to pay a good loan fee if they wish ti bring in Coutinho, and the playmaker is also reportedly demanding a weekly wage of around £200,000.

Though Spurs are strongly linked to the two moves, they will have to do something extraordinary to secure the move within one day as the transfer window in England closes August 8.
