Tottenham and Southampton have reached a conclusion for the transfer of Victor Wanyama. The former Celtic starlet will join Spurs for a reported £11m on a four year contract.
Wanyama, 24, was on a vacation at his native Kenya and flew back to England for a medical on Sunday as soon as the clubs shook hands on the negotiation table. The North Londoner’s tried to sign him last year but were denied by the Saints and have finally been able to get their hands on the player who is admired and praised by the Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who had signed him from Celtic for a fee of £12m back when he was the Southampton manager.
The versatile player who could play as a defender and midfielder both has made 85 appearances for the Saints and has managed to score four goals for them. The Kenyan will help Tottenham bolster their squad depth and will play an integral part for the Premier League runners-up who are also going to challenge in the Champions League this season.
