While the Cup Series is steadily headed to The Tricky Triangle this week, following an action-packed race at New Hampshire, NASCAR nation is locked and loaded for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard at the iconic Indian Motor Speedway in August. With news popping from all corners because of the star-studded lineup the race features, the community is all set for action as Japanese phenom Kamui Kobayashi and Aussie Supercar icon Brodie Kostecki are set to make their debuts in NASCAR’s premier division.
Though such updates are certain to excite the younger fanbase, traditionalists of the sport despised the idea of even having a road course in the schedule, let alone a foreign entity. Regardless of the criticism, NASCAR is all in on the idea, as it will also feature Chicago Street Race winner Shane Van Gisbergen in the #91 Trackhouse Racing Chevy battling it out with the field.
And once again, the community gets to witness its favorite NASCAR stars going at it amidst the fierce competition these international stars bring. While Chicago’s inaugural race was a test for the field, the Indianapolis race will level the playing field even for Cup Series drivers to redeem themselves.

You wanted a battle? Here’s a war! NASCAR drivers eye revenge
The scene is almost set, with prominent names from IMSA, WEC, and Australian Supercar drivers set to make their mark in Stock Car Racing. August 13th will feature yet another warfare between these international prospects as they battle with their Cup Series counterparts at Indiana Motor Speedway.
The Verizon 200 at The Brickyard will probably go down as one of the most exciting races this year, not just because of its star-studded driver line-up but also because of the level of competition on the field. With the WEC champion driver and Toyota Gazoo Racing team principal, Kamui Kobayashi, all geared up to make his NASCAR debut for 23XI Racing, piloting #67 Toyota, the Aussie Supercar sensation, Brodie Kostecki’s debut will be with Richard Childress Racing alongside the “Rowdy” Kyle Busch.
Never did I think we’d go into an Indy Road Course race in NASCAR with two of the potential favourites to win being Brodie Kostecki and Kamui Kobayashi!

While we saw how SVG chewed up the field, putting on a masterclass for Cup Series drivers, this will be their shot at redemption as Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, and road racing expert Tyler Reddick will certainly give it their best, promising us fans a thriller of a race. However, the inaugural race on the city lanes turned race track got the best of most of the elite NASCAR drivers, as the tight technical turns along with the slippery conditions proved more than a mouthful for the pack.
And adding more delight is the presence of former F1 champion Jenson Button and IMSA talent Andy Lally. While purists are already deeming it more than NASCAR needs right now, the younger fans have already embraced it and are eagerly awaiting the epic showdown.

Despite the rain havoc in Chicago, where SVG trumped his fellow Cup drivers in their own backyard, the community senses the upcoming event as a NASCAR driver’s shot at redemption.
The Cup Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course now features Shane Van Gisbergen, Brodie Kostecki, Jenson Button and Kamui Kobayashi all moonlighting against NASCAR's best.
Honest to God, IMS wasn't on my original schedule but I'm probably going now.
