“We are trying everything to get Rafael Nadal to come and play the Erste Bank Open 2020,” said Herwig Straka, tournament director of the Vienna Open 2020.

The Vienna Open 2020 will kick off from 24th October 2020 and will stretch till 1st November 2020. The event venue is Wiener Stadthalle. It is an indoor hard court tournament and a part of the ATP World Tour 500 series.

Organizers do realize the impact of Nadal in the tournament. He can single-handedly raise the TRP of the event. That’s why they don’t want to miss a golden opportunity,

Rafa has not confirmed until now whether he would be there in Vienna or not. He is surely on a busy schedule and might even take a break for some time.

“He’s still to decide on his schedule and whether he wants to gain more points for the No.1 spot,” concluded a hopeful Straka.

After the French Open 2020, Nadal has retained his No.2 spot with 9850 points. He is still 1890 points behind Novak Djokovic who is at No.1 with 11740 points. In order to dethrone the Serbian, Nadal has to gain some quick points.

Meanwhile, Djokovic has confirmed his presence at the Vienna Open 2020. After his first defeat of the year in the finals of Roland Garros 2020, the Serbian will look forward to add another feather in his golden cap. It will be intriguing for the fans if Nadal signs up for the tournament and they can witness another Rafa-Djoko final.
