The two Grand Slams held after the Australian Open 2020 saw major changes than usual. The US Open 2020 was held behind closed doors, while the French Open 2020 saw just 1000 spectators allowed inside the Roland Garros fields.

Australian Open organizers are planning to allow 50 percent of the seats to be filled by fans. This is subject to government clearance. He supported the soccer club FC Basel and the Swiss national team while growing up. He also attributes his hand-eye coordination to the varied sports he participated in as a kid, such as basketball and badminton.

On April 11, 2009, they tied the knot at the Wenkenhof Villa in Riehen, close to Basel, in the presence of a select number of dear friends and family. She gave birth to identical twin girls (Myla and Charlene) in 2009. 2014 saw the birth of a second set of twins, this time fraternal brothers (Lenny and Leo).
