But Venus Williams, who will turn 37 in June played remarkably well against the greatest player tennis has ever witnessed. She did it all. It was Serena though, who managed to prevail in the first set and break the serve in the 7th game of the second set to make way towards victory. She becomes the oldest woman to win a Grand Slam and also the oldest player to hold the Number 1 ranking.
