Barcelona knocked out of Champions league. Atletico Madrid are through to the Champions League semi-finals after beating the defending champions FC Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate on Wednesday night.

Barcelona won the first leg of the quarter-final tie 2-1 in the Nou Camp & were the favourites to make the final four of the Champions League, despite their poor recent run in the domestic league in which they could only manage a point from their last three games. And Barcelona’s season unraveled further as they were beaten 2-0 in the second leg in Vincente Calderon, thanks to a brace by Antoine Griezmann.
This is first time that Luis Enrique’s Barcelona have lost to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid & the second time that Simeone’s side have knocked out the Catalan giants from Europe’s elite club competition.
