It was a big day down under, as Masha-Williams, Federer and Novak lined up for their quarters. First on court was Aga Radwanska and she made light work of the tenth seed to book her place in the semis.
Next up, was the much awaited clash of Sharapova and Serena, but once again it turned out to be heavily one sided affair as Serena had no troubles in dispatching Masha 6-4 6-1, for the 18th consecutive time.
Tomas Berdych took a shot at Roger Federer at the Rod Laver Arena, but he looked like a spent force in front of the geniuses of the Swiss maestro. After hanging on for a tight first set, Berdych was totally dismantled and Federer glided his way into his 39th GS S/F.

The evening session saw the world number one and the defending champion Novak Djokovic take on Kei Nishikori. It was another anticipated fixture, but Kei was a huge letdown. Making 50+ unforced errors, he had absolutely no chance against the brutal Serbian machine on the other side of the net.
So what had the twitter buzzing, apart from the results of today?

I once lost more than 100 straight games in tennis to my older brother. Games. So some sympathy for Sharapova here. Williams is unsolvable.

Tough to catch Federer, who can get more. Assume Djokovic gets to 32 this year, then 36, then 40–in 2018. Nutty. https://t.co/Xobc5BZYqq
