Sindhu settled for silver
PV Sindhu won the Silver Medal for India in the 2016 Rio Olympics, as the whole nation prayed and wished for her. Despite fighting hard and giving a fierce competition to World No. 1, Spain’s Carolina Marin, she faced defeat. Nevertheless, Sindhu has won millions of hearts all over the world, after making such an amazing comeback. World No. 10, Sindhu has made India proud over her, although she settled for silver with the match statistics as : 21-12, 12-21, 15-21.
This Defeat will hurt Sindhu, as she had rallied superbly to come back from 6-11 and 16-19 to win the first game; still it needed something superior to beat a champion like Marin, who played like a champion, pacing the game in her own way and forced Sindhu to commit errors. Sindhu can carry her head high. India is still proud of her. Twitter praised and lauded Sindhu for her run and historic performance ever.
