“I got caught on the eye and that changed the fight. For the majority, I could not see out of the eye, then there was a clash of heads and I got cut again,” it was in this manner that Tyson Fury won against Otto Wallin in the Las Vegas bout.

Tyson was taken to the hospital after the match and had minor surgeries. Talking to BBC sport after the surgeries, Tyson seemed to be raring to go once again.

“I went to the hospital, had a few stitches, went home and had an early night,” Tyson was quoted as saying. Then I’ve got up, gone to the casino, won five grand, had a few beers and now I’m going to have a few more beers.”

“I’m ready for war. I think it was just over 40 stitches inside and out with both the cuts. Listen I’m all right. It’s boxing. You can’t go swimming and not get wet. It’s the fight game.”

When asked if such a test would further improve him before any wilder meeting, he said, “100% – 12 rounds will bring me on to the next fight. I thought it was tough. He’s a tough, durable guy Wallin.”

“We put on a good show for the Mexican fans and we got a massive audience, I was very surprised.”

His match against Wallin on Sunday was expected to be well in favour of the British boxer, but it was not to be as Wallin took him to the 12th round and Tyson had to go through 47 stiches after the match.

“It was a good 12 rounds, he was tough. It’s all heart and determination – if I can keep going I will do. He was 20-0 and didn’t know how to lose, but I was the better man,” Tyson had said after the match.
