WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was in talks with former champion Anthony Joshua for a potential bout in December. However, the fight never materialized leaving ‘The Gypsy King’ to face Derek Chisora for the third time, who he comfortably beat. Now, Fury has set his sights not on his fellow countryman but on the one who beat him.

Tyson Fury wants to face Oleksandr Usyk next

In a recent interview with IFLTV, Fury claimed that making a fight with Usyk was way more important than a fight with Joshua. He added that he would get more money as well as prestige for facing the man who beat Joshua twice and also took shots at ‘AJ’s post-fight interview.

Me and Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. Two undefeated champions not a man who has been beaten in three of his last five fights. He doesn’t bring anything to the table. In terms of money, I’ll earn double the amount from Usyk than from the other sausage. I’m looking to fight Usyk, Joshua’s nemesis, the man who made him cry like a little girl, ‘I’m 18 stone’. So, I’m 20 stone.” he said

‘The Gypsy King’ seems to have moved on from the Joshua fight like he said he would. Moreover, he was not shy to take digs at his countryman which shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Fury’s showboating nature. In addition, he also thinks that another rising star could give ‘AJ’ a run for his money.

I think so. I think he wipes the floor with Joshua anyway but then again, we’ll never see it,” Fury said. Notably, both Fury and Joyce are currently promoted under Frank Warren. However, Joyce has proved that he belongs at the top of the division following his victory over Fury’s teammate Joseph Parker.
