Ubisoft took to Twitter to announce the launch of its latest service, ‘Ubisoft Connect’.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and others will have cross-gen saves

In addition to this, Ubisoft also announced a list of games that will support this feature. In response to a fan’s question about Rainbow Six: Seige, they said, “Hey – as the tweet mentions it’s just for our newest releases. As it stands, so far Hyper Scape, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Riders Republic are confirmed”

This may be great news for the next-gen gamers, but there are a lot of older games that could do with this feature. Many of the Assassin’s Creed titles and Far Cry games would be great if they got this functionality. There is no mention of older games getting this cross-gen, cross-platform save support in the future.

In addition to this, it also allows players to keep a track of their game progression across platforms. Moreover, the service also enables players to stay in touch with their other Ubisoft friends on console or PC. Players can also compare their stats to their friends to keep things competitive. Additionally, it is now possible to view personal highlights of games before starting a new session.

This seems like a great step into the future, considering there will be a lot of cross-platform play involved in next-gen gaming. Being able to save progress on different platforms is definitely a huge win. Hopefully, the same may be possible for older titles soon.
