Darren Till makes his middleweight debut against Kelvin Gastelum in UFC 244. The co-main event of UFC 244 was in trouble as Darren Till was supposedly facing visa issues. There was a delay in his arrival too. Till was not present during the open workout and the media day either.

Many fans even speculated they will get to see Jared Cannonier fight Gastelum. However, this was all pre-planned. Darren Till has arrived in New York after a lot of speculations and is ready for the fight night.

When asked about the recent rumors on his visa issues, Till said:

“I heard that someone said, I don’t know certain visa issues, I just wanted to have a good week with me, with Kalum with family down in London. We said we would finish the camp off there. SO we just checked into an unbelievable hotel. We just had a chilled week, no one bothering us, and I thought okay I will get there Thursday night, cut the weight.”

Darren Till also assured that his weight cut is on point and he will make weight comfortably for the fight night. Ideally, fighters like to get arrive early to get used to the atmosphere, however, Till’s coach, Colin believes Till does not need that as he has been doing this all his kickboxing career. He even hints at this being pre-planned to make a statement. Colin added:

“Maybe. Maybe there is a little bit of element, hang on I am the main event. I am the real BMF here. I will turn over my terms, few demands need to be met maybe a nice upgrade on a flight and I will roll up when I am ready.”

With the arrival of Darren Till, the co-main event is still on. For the first time in his MMA career, Darren Till is coming off two consecutive losses and he is making his middleweight debut against one of the toughest opponents in the division. Hence the pressure will be on Darren Till when he enters the octagon in MSG against Gastelum.
