Just under 22-years of age, Edmen Shahbazyan was facing a nine-year old veteran Brad Tavares at the UFC 244 in the middle weight category on Saturday. Taveres might have a previosuous experience of facing a few of the best fighters in the world, but it hardly took three minutes for Shahbazyan to knock out Tavares to stamp his place as rising contender in the middleweight division.
Shahbazyan started to the fight, trying to dominate Tavares from the start with continuous punches. Tavares was unable to escape the pressure of Shahbazyan, forced to backpedal until he was tagged with a massive left head kick.
The contest ended with the clock reading two minutes and 21 seconds.
