Conor McGregor will finally return to the octagon after a long lay off of more than a year. McGregor will return to the welterweight division in a fight against UFC veteran Donald Cowboy Cerrone on Jan 18. at UFC 246, inside T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. The stadium is already sold out, and all the MMA fans are waiting for The Notorious’ huge comeback. McGregor has only competed twice in the welterweight division. He faced Nate Diaz at UFC 196, which marked his first-ever UFC loss. However, he picked up his first victory at the welterweight division after securing a majority decision win in the rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202.

Despite such short experience at the division, Conor’s decision to jump up the division and fight at welterweight has raised many eyebrows. In the recent episode of Ariel & The Bad Guy, former UFC lightweight title contender Chael Sonnen firmly believes that McGregor made a bad decision by climbing up the weight class. He also emphasized on Cerrone’s potential with the extra 15lbs and Conor’s inability to perform well in later rounds.
