The return of Conor McGregor, the first PPV of this year, and what a night it has been. We saw some spectacular performances tonight. Roxanne Modafferi defied all the odds and dominated Maycee Barber, Aleksei Oleinik overcame Maurice Greene, Diego Ferreira outclassed former champion, Anthony Pettis, and all have led us to the ultimate showdown between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone.
Conor McGregor was making his octagon return since his loss to the lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. There have been a ton of speculations about who Conor would fight on his UFC return, and it turns out to be UFC veteran with the most number of finishes, and most number of performance bonuses, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. And when the pressure was on McGregor shined again and gave his fans a spectacle to witness.

Conor McGregor took only 40 seconds to finish the fighter who has more than 40 fight experience. To describe in short, it was magic as Conor promised. However, we now have the winner of this long-awaited fight and we look forward to what’s next for the Notorious One.
After the clinical performance, Conor put multiple divisions on notice with this: “anyone of these mouthy fools can get it. Even that little fool at the desk”. Both Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman were present for this fight and it seemed Conor sends a message to both of them after his win.

He also addressed Jorge Masvidal sitting at the cage side and said Masvidal can get it too.
With this win, McGregor has now knockout wins in three different divisions, featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. Conor claimed: “I am the first fighter to secure knockout history at 3 different divisions.”. Well, it’s not the first time Conor made history in the T-Mobile Arena.
Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal
This is going to be a super fight. Jorge Masvidal is one of the biggest stars in the game right now and there can be no one bigger than Conor McGregor. Considering how big the BMF title fight was between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, the clash between Conor and Masvidal will break records for sure.
Conor McGregor has already made it clear that the welterweight title is something that’s on his wishlist, but he has also stated that the Masvidal fight is much more interesting to him because of the similarity in styles. It’s safe to assume that fans want to see Conor vs Masvidal next rather than the fight with Usman. But UFC president, Dana White has not been very convinced to see Conor fight the welterweight elites such as Masvidal and Usman. Well, after tonight’s performance, White might change his mind about Conor’s future in welterweight.
