Jon Jones defends his light heavyweight title against the undefeated contender, Dominick Reyes. The majority of the fans believe that Jones is going to outclass Reyes. However, Reyes does not agree with that notion.

Dominick Reyes believes that he is the one to dethrone the light heavyweight GOAT. Reyes even claims that Jones has not fought an opponent who is as athletic as he is. It is to be noted that Reyes played football before he realized he came into the brutal sport of MMA.

Well, Jon Jones addressed Reyes’ claims on social media. Jones tweeted:

Jones has fought some of the very best fighters this sport had to offer. Jones has been able to overcome elite fighters from multiple generations. The champion reminded his resume to Reyes and continued: 

DC competed in the NCAA finals and in the Olympics, OSP played Division I football, Bader the current double Champ of Bellator, Vitor crazy speed and explosive, Lyoto had been striking since age 5, Glover was on a 20 fight win streak but none of those guys are athletes I guess.

Dominick Reyes on his gameplan to beat Jon Jones

Can Dominick Reyes beat Jon Jones, arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time? Even if many believe he can’t Reyes is confident that he has figured out Jones . Though he has not shown much in his short MMA career, Reyes is a legit light heavyweight, he is athletic, he has knockout power to sleep anyone in the division, and it seems he has a gameplan to defeat Jones. Reyes talked about what mistakes he would avoid against Jones and said:

Fight your fight. Don’t let him fight your fight for you. Don’t let him get in your mind. Don’t let him say “Ohh! we are going easy. we are going to start off easy”. And then he just changes up the tempo and starts throwing this and starts throwing that. He lures people into a false sense of security. And all his fights he starts pretty slow on purpose. There are so many things that he does those are small nuances to the game. And I see him, I am ready.
