“He’s Not Worried About Losing”- Joe Rogan Breaks Down Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson
Justing Gaethje is looking to share the octagon with Tony Ferguson in the main event at UFC 249. Many look at him as a stepping stone for Ferguson to move up to Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Joe Rogan hurls praises at The Highlight on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
Gaethje stepped in on short notice to replace Khabib before the event was moved to May 9th. The imposition of strict sanctions on travel in and out of the country left Khabib grounded in Russia.
Justin Gaethje recently found his way to the headlines after making a rather unique statement. The fighter, ahead of his fight with Tony Ferguson, revealed that he hopes to get his face restructured during the fight. The Highlight wants Ferguson to break his nose so that he can get it fixed at the expense of the UFC.

“How hilarious is Justin Gaethje? His nose is useless. It’s smashed,” says Rogan after imitating the fighter’s voice as he jokes about it while in conversation with Brendan Schaub.
Rogan goes on to praise Gaethje’s fighting style and desire to seek greatness.
“I mean his style is so face-forward. He’s such a brawler, in a good way. I’m a giant fan of that guy. I’m a fan of his personality, his mindset, the way he approaches fights. He’s kill or be killed,” said Rogan.
“He doesn’t give you any space. He jumps all over you. If he gets you hurt he’ll throw himself right into the fire. It’s like he’s not worried about losing,” said Rogan while talking about Gaethje’s fighting style.
Gaethje is currently riding a winning streak of three fights. Gaethje finished all three fights within the first round. UFC 249 marks Gaethje’s first shot at a UFC title or an interim title.
Joe Rogan on Tony Ferguson
The pair go on to discuss a rather unique perspective about the race to the lightweight title. Both Rogan and Schaub admit that watching a fight between Gaethje and Ferguson would be much more entertaining than that with either fighter taking on Khabib.

“Tony is more entertaining than anybody too. Everybody who fights Tony looks like they fell off a train. Cowboy’s face was a mess, Pettis was covered in blood. Everybody gets f****d up,” said Rogan while talking about the destruction Tony Ferguson leaves in his wake.

Rogan admits that all Ferguson needs to do is get through the initial rounds of the fight. Considering how he never gets tired, there is no way he loses in a fight where he has gone all 5 rounds.
