All eyes will be glued to screens on May 9th with the UFC getting the green light to organize UFC 249. The highly anticipated event will be taking place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo puts his title on the line against Dominick Cruz in the co-headliner of the event.

Some may assume that a title fight loses its meaning without the cheers and jeers of thousands of fans reverberating across an arena drenched in blood, sweat, and tears. However, Triple C has his eyes set on getting the job done. Everything else is inconsequential for the former two-division champion.

“It doesn’t matter if there are 2 people or 2 million people in the stands. I gotta get the job done,” said Henry Cejudo while talking about the circumstances under which his title fight is taking place.

However, Cejudo hopes to see Cruz at his best, come fight night. The Olympic medallist’s concern regarding his would-be opponent is not ill-founded.

“I find everybody different. I have a game plan for everyone.  Guess I’m a chameleon. I expect the best Dominick Cruz to come out,” said Cejudo while talking to the media at the UFC 249 Virtual Media Day.

Cruz has been living on the sidelines, away from the octagon for quite some time. A series of injuries and health issues have kept The Dominator out of action, ever since his loss to Cody Garbrandt. However, both fighters are coming off of shoulder injuries.

Ring rust is something that fans, MMA pundits, and The King of Cringe himself are worried about. However, as far as Cruz is concerned, he is looking forward to proving that ring rust is something that doesn’t exist in his world.

Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz Trash-Talk Each Other Ahead of UFC 249

Tensions between Cejudo and his challenger, Dominick Cruz have been flaring, ever since we moved into fight week. Verbal barbs have been going back and forth between the two fighters, unsurprisingly.

“You better start collecting unemployment checks because I’m taking your ass out. ‘Dominique!’ You know I’m the real deal, you know I’m coming. You ain’t getting past three rounds,” said Cejudo during a conference call ahead while taking questions from the media.

“Well, you prove it to me, Princess, on May 9. Because on May 9—like I said before—I’m serving GOAT,” Cejudo exclaimed.

This fight comes as a great opportunity for both fighters. A chance to cement his legacy in the UFC for Cruz. On the other hand, a win over Cruz is another step up to greatness, for Cejudo.

Who will lady luck favor on May 9th?
