Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik entered the Octagon at UFC 249 on the back of a stunning knockout win by Calvin Kattar. That fight ended in the 2nd minute of the second round. All bets were on a knockout finish here too, as both fighters were on a streak of 3 consecutive knockout wins.

The 2nd ranked Heavyweight fighter initially wanted the fight to be for the Interim UFC Heavyweight Championship. He was frustrated at the division being kept in limbo as they wait for Daniel Cormier vs Stipe Miocic 3.

The fight started with both fighters feeling out their opponent before they began tagging each other. ‘The Predator’, however, unleashed bombs after ten seconds and had ‘Bigi Boy’ backing away. A few seconds later, he nailed a mean left punch and then continued pummeling the 6th ranked fighter before the referee intervened.

“Yea. I mean, when I heard he called me out, I knew that he didn’t know what he’s doing. I mean he has a lot of potential. But, I just think he has to take a step back before fighting against someone like me.”

‘The Predator’ can certainly make such claims, as it is tough to see anyone stopping him. It will also be tough to see him being denied a shot at the UFC Heavyweight Championship any longer.

‘Bigi Boy’ can use this experience to sharpen his skills and come back stronger. However, he will have to deal with the fact that he is no longer undefeated. He will also know the power of the man he called out and has to work harder. Just like ‘The Predator’ himself said, ‘Bigi Boy’ has potential, but he just isn’t ready yet.
