After being on the sidelines for months, Ngannou finally got the opportunity to show up at work. Although many thought that this fight would turn out like Ngannou vs Lewis, it wasn’t the case. Francis went after Rozenstruik right off the bat. Both men started swinging heavy blows but Francis got the better of the exchanges.

Within 20 seconds of the opening round, Francis delivered a devastating strike that ended the fight. He made it look easy against one of the most dangerous fighters in the division.

Daniel Cormier Reacts to Francis Ngannou’s KO win

Cormier was a part of the broadcast team for UFC 249. He was one of the commentators along with Joe Rogan and Jon Anik. The former two-division champion was stunned to see Ngannou make quick work of Rozenstruik.

Unfortunately for Ngannou, he will not be fighting for the title anytime soon. As of now, the heavyweight division of the UFC has stagnated. There is barely any movement in the rankings, especially at the top.

Since Cormier’s loss to Stipe Miocic in their second fight, there hasn’t been a single title bout in the division. According to UFC President Dana White, Cormier is next in line to face off against Miocic in a trilogy. And that fight is probably a few months away.

So what has stopped the UFC from booking the match? Soon after DC vs Miocic 2, Stipe underwent eye surgery which put him out of the competition. The recent Coronavirus outbreak is also the cause of delay as Stipe holds a second job as a firefighter-paramedic.

DC vs Stipe 3 will be Cormier’s retirement match. If Cormier wins, Ngannou will probably fight Miocic for the vacant strap. However, if Stipe wins, Ngannou vs Miocic 2 is bound to happen.
