Daniel Cormier has failed to claim the Heavyweight title on his farewell contest against Stipe Miocic at UFC 252. The 41-year-old has called it a day.

However, Dana White is not ready to accept that. Although White claims to respect DC’s decision, he is still optimistic about Cormier’s return to action. That said, the UFC chief is still unsure regarding when or whether it will happen.

Dana White thinks Daniel Cormier will fight again

In the post-fight press conference of UFC 252, Dana White shed light on multiple issues, including Daniel Cormier’s UFC journey. Despite umpteen validations from Cormier himself, White sees a potential return from him in the future.

DC has had been one of the most prominent figures from the UFC roster, seeking global attention throughout. He has always proven to be a big draw for the organization, and White is clearly not ready to bid goodbye yet.

Although 41 years of age can be a considerable factor, Dana White still wants to see more from the wrestling veteran.

“The guy has been the best to work with. He is easy. He wanted to fight everybody.

White added, “He is willing to do anything. He is a great guy. He is a great ambassador of the sport. I think me saying he won’t retire is my kind of hoping he does not retire.

“But whatever he decides to, I am happy for him.”

However, White has also confirmed that he is yet to personally talk to Cormier. As per the UFC president, DC walked off straight after giving his post-fight interview and didn’t speak with anyone.

DC and White have been close to each other throughout the years. Thus, Dana White relies on DC’s decision and wants him to have the liberty of making his own choices.

“I will let him do his thing. I am not gonna comment on it.”

Further, he said, “I did not talk to him. He walked right off the octagon, did his interview, and I am assuming he is not on his way to the hospital. I just think, Cormier the way that guy is, the competitor he is. He says I am going, how like that. I don’t know that’s my prediction.”

The Cormier show will go on

If not inside the cage, the ‘DC Saga’ will continue outside it. Two-division UFC champion Cormier is a stellar member of the commentary panel and has mired himself in several other ventures.

He is also adjoined with the EA Sports for the latest UFC 4 video game. Thus, the Heavyweight great would continue to appear for the fans. Just not in the UFC.

However, if DC changes up his mind, we might see another blockbuster PPV in the future.
