‘Sugar’s activities away from the octagon are of great appeal. He opened up on how he balances everything at the UFC 252 pre-fight interview. 

O’Malley said, “There’s a lot of free time being a professional athlete. Say you train twice a day, you still have a good amount of free time during the day. I just capitalize on that with the ‘Suga show podcast’, my Twitch stream with my own little YouTube things that I do.”

The fighter has an active Twitch platform where he creates content and streams video games regularly. His podcast provides fans with an unfiltered view of his own life and preparation for his fights.

‘Sugar’ continues, “I have a lot of free time and I just capitalize on that. You can make money doing all those things and I enjoy doing all those things. So it just makes sense for me to do stuff like that.”

The fighter is putting business and fun together and making the most of his opportunities. By building his brand and drawing eyeballs to himself and in extension, the UFC, he is reaping the rewards early in his career.

The fighter will feature in the co-main event of UFC 252. Here, he is higher up on a card which includes former UFC champion, Junior dos Santos. Fight fans know that O’Malley likes to finish his fights and try to avoid leaving matters in the judges’ hands.

Hence they will hope to see a tenth career finish, but his opponent Marlon Vera is not one to go down easily. All in all, it should be a cracking fight and win or lose, O’Malley will have fun with the result on his platforms soon.
