‘The Last Stylebender‘ usually never has boring fights. However, he could not engage much with Romero. The UFC 248 fight was extremely stagnant, with several moments of complete inactivity. Hence, Israel Adesanya will be keen to move past the aforementioned fight and get back to being the electrifying striker he’s known to be.
Paulo Costa lays it on the line
‘The Eraser’ called back to Adesanya’s first title defense against Romero and drew some parallels through the bout. Additionally, the heavy-handed striker touched on the fact that he wasn’t willing to chase Israel. However, he added that he would put forward an unrelenting pace.

“First of all, as you say, he’s a counter. Everybody here saw when he fought Romero. If one guy doesn’t push him, he will not push out. He will stand and the guy came for him so I will try to push him to bring him to the fight, but if he avoids the fight, I will not run. I will not chase him all the time. I will go back to the middle and cut the angles and try to make the fight happen.”
