UFC Fighters React to an Epic Fight Between Casey Kenney and Nathaniel Wood

Casey Kenney was coming off a spectacular unanimous decision win over Heili Alateng at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Aldana. Soon after the victory, the fighter expressed his desire to make a quick turnaround, and UFC President Dana White took care of his request.

Making a quick turnaround in less than 20 days since his last fight, Casey Kenney looked spectacular on Fight Island. He put up yet another exciting performance inside the octagon and picked up a unanimous decision win over rising contender Nathaniel Wood.

Both the fighters gave their everything inside the cage and garnered reaction from fight fans around the world. Many UFC fighters took to Twitter to congratulate both the fighter for their potential “Fight of the Night” performance in the preliminary card at UFC 254.

Casey Kenney picks up a win in a quick turnaround at UFC 254

While many fans may disagree with one judge going to the length of giving it a 30-27 for Kenney, credit should be given where it is due. Nathaniel Wood was spectacular for the better part of the first half of the fight. As a result, ‘The Prospect’s’ cardio was put to test in a fast-paced fight.

The first round started with Kenney picking up the pace, and landing several significant calf kicks. Later, he slowed down significantly in the second round as fans began to back his opponent for the win. However, it was the third round where Kenney managed to turn the fight in his favor. He landed several powerful punches and landed a straight jab that shook Wood in the closing moments.

All the fights fans were on the edge of their seats as Twitter went bonkers on an exciting outing in the co-main event of UFC 254. The headliner will see Khabib Nurmagomedov defend his lightweight strap in a title unification bout against Justin Gaethje.
