Cynthia Calvillo seems elevated prior to her bout against Katlyn Chookagian. The two will collide for a Flyweight fight this Saturday at UFC 255.
Calvillo ranks 4th whereas Katlyn holds a 2nd spot in the Flyweight division. Both of them will yearn for a win, as it might set them up up for a viable title-shot.
Calvillo was previously booked with Lauren Murphy, a 5th ranked Flyweight contender. However, Murphy opted out of the fight.

Calvillo vs Murphy was booked for UFC 254 on October 24, but testing positive for COVID-19 forced Calvillo out of the contest. Murphy then had to confront Liliya Shakirova on the same card.
In the above video, Calvillo says, “Honestly, at this time she’s (Murphy) not my concern. They offered the fight to her on November 21st. She said no! That’s all I heard. I didn’t hear about any other date or any about that.”
According to Calvillo, UFC tried to re-book a fight between the two, but Murphy denied the offer and that’s how Katlyn came into the picture for Calvillo.
“I think she (Murphy) also made a mention that I was making a way out fighter. But, how is me taking a fight against someone who’s higher ranked than her and also beat her taking the way out? So she can sit down and think whatever she wants to.” added Calvillo.
UFC 255: Main Card – Cynthia Calvillo vs Katlyn Chookagian
Calvillo would look to continue her relentless pro-MMA record. She currently holds 9 wins, 1 loss, and a draw in her career. Her only loss came in 2017 against Carla Esparza through Unanimous Decision.
She won her last fight against Jessica Eye via Unanimous decision, which moved her to the number 4 spot in Women’s Flyweight rankings. Calvillo is considered among the most ferocious female fighters in the UFC and a solid challenger for a Flyweight title-shot.
The ‘Blonde Fighter’ Katlyn Chookagian will enter the Octagon after facing a loss to the number 1 Flyweight contender, Jessica Andrade.

Overall, this will be a charismatic matchup and Calvillo would look to exploit her by some rock-hard striking and defense, but Katlyn won’t be a straightforward job to crack.
The UFC 255 card also comprises a Women’s Flyweight Title Fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Jennifer Maia as the Co-Main event.
Who do you think gets the much needed ‘W’ in this fight? How will things play out in the Women’s Flyweight division post this main card & Co-Main event?
