Poirier on the other hand has remained far more consistent and continued to make waves in McGregor’s absence. Chiefly, he captured the interim lightweight championship and has knocked over several high-caliber champs. Eddie ‘The Underground King’ Alvarez and Justin Gaethje are two wins in particular that have aged very well.

Conor McGregor predicts a shut-out

‘The Notorious’ laid it all on the line rather precisely when making reference to his prediction for his upcoming bout. The former two-division champion let fans know that he was going to send Poirier out of the cage in under a minute. Moreover, it’s hard to doubt ‘Mystic Mac’ given his high hit-rate when it comes to predictions.

McGregor vs Poirier 1: History to repeat itself?

Dustin Poirier in turn is a slow starter and often needs a few minutes to get his bearings under the bright lights.
