UFC 258 has suffered its fair share of setbacks and the fighters in question who had to withdraw have spoken up. Chiefly, a main card lightweight scrap that was circled to produce fireworks, fell out right on weigh-in day. Bobby Green was supposed to take on Jim Miller, however, UFC President Dana White revealed that ‘King’ Green collapsed backstage.

Additionally, hours before the event kicked off, the UFC canceled a highly anticipated scrap between Gillian Robertson and rising star Miranda Maverick. MMA Junkie reported that it was as Gillian Robertson suffered a non-COVID related illness. Hence, the UFC 258 fight card came in with a reduction to 10 fights overall with a 5-4-1 split across the main, preliminary, and early preliminary card.

Green said“There are three hills I have to get over in fighting. 1 giving blood I hate needles. 2 plans I hate heights. 3 the weight cut I was so close. … So to be clear I have air pockets in my lungs I guess and my kidneys failed I messed my back up in training I thought it was just pain from that. … Thanks for all the wonderful things you guys said. It’s crazy how (you) can get a lot of love but not the love (you) want if that makes any sense lol.”
