Dominick Cruz earned a split-decision win over Casey Kenney in the featured prelims bout of UFC 259. ‘The Dominator’ looked sharp upon his return to the Octagon. He managed to get a win over a growing contender in Kenney.
Many expected Cruz to call out an opponent in his post-fight interview. However, much to the surprise of everyone, the former UFC bantamweight champion proceeded to call out UFC sponsor, Monster Energy’s Hans Molenkamp. He called out Molenkamp for a charity fight which even left UFC commentator Joe Rogan stunned.
According to Cruz, Molenkamp has been holding fighters, hostage, by making them do personal PR as he forces them to take pictures and videos with him. Per ‘The Dominator’ as Monster Energy is the official sponsor of UFC, fighters are somewhat forced to adhere to Molenkamp’s wishes.

“I would love to get a charity fight lined up, in a day and age where a lot of fake people can take pictures next to Lamborghinis. A guy named Hans Molenkamp has been holding a lot of fighters hostage, saying he’s an awesome pro fighter and picking his fights.
How about we do something for charity? He’s got a 100-pound advantage. I think we can put on a show with a lot of money,” said ‘The Dominator’ in his post-fight interview. (Credit: South China Morning Post)
He further explained his call out in the post-fight press conference.
What’s next for Dominick Cruz?

Cruz didn’t look out of sorts by any means against a young contender like Kenney. He cleared the initial cobwebs of recent Octagon inactivity and put pressure on Kenney right from the start. The more time he spends being active, the more comfortable he will get in there.
