UFC champion Jan Blachowicz sat down with ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani and did a deep dive into his upcoming match-up. The 27-8 veteran who wields the legendary Polish Power had plenty to say about fighting Israel Adesanya at UFC 259. Blachowicz is attempting to halt Adesanya in his tracks and deny him a spot in the UFC’s history books.
Israel Adesanya is looking to make history as the first-ever UFC champion to win two belts as an undefeated fighter. Additionally, with a win he’ll become just the fifth fighter ever to claim two belts in the organization. There is a lot on the line and Jan Blachowicz gladly looks to step up and make his name off a statement win against ‘Izzy’.

“The cage is smaller so I don’t have to you know, run after him. You know, when he’s going to be using his footwork. And when I grab him I’m going to use my weight you know. He’s going to feel that I’m heavier, and he’s going to be tired. When fight goes to the ground also, I’m going to be bigger. I think it’s going to be an easier job for me to control him on the ground, to take him to the ground.”
“I’m going to use not only my power but also me weight so I think his is going to be really good for me and will help me. But I have to catch him. Put pressure on him, go to half distance and that’s it you know, we’ll see.”
