Israel Adesanya is making a move up to the light-heavyweight division of the UFC to fight Jan Blachowicz this weekend at UFC 259. The middleweight champion of the UFC is looking to create history by becoming one of the very few simultaneous double champions in the promotion’s history.
But he will have a stern test in hand against Blachowicz, who has extreme power in everything he does inside the Octagon. That might play as an important factor against ‘Stylebender’ who hasn’t quite fought someone of Blachowicz’s power and size inside the Octagon yet.

Adesanya defeated Paulo Costa in his last fight at UFC 253 and believed that he proved a point to the casual fans in that bout. Nevertheless, he acknowledged his clash against Blachowicz as one for the purists.

“This fights for the purists. This fight is for those people who knows. Who know the vibe. And we know that this this Viking I’m about to face is a marauder. He’s a guy that’s gonna yeah, that’s gonna come forward with his style, effectively. And he’s he’s actually a bigger guy than my last opponent as well. And he knows how to use his size. So this is for the purists when I talk when we talk about like David and Goliath,” said Adesanya.
Can Israel Adesanya add to his legacy by defeating Jan Blachowicz?
‘Stylebender‘ has an undefeated 20-0 professional MMA record, and he has achieved superstar status over a very short period of time in the UFC. His style and contemporary mentality have been a major factor for him to grow on the fans.
His fighting style is entertaining and unique. Whenever ‘Stylebender’ steps inside the Octagon, he seldom fails to come up with highlight-reel performances.

A win against a bigger fighter in Blachowicz will only add to his increasing legacy. But it’s easier said than done, as Blachowicz is a veteran of the game and has risen through adversity to finally make a name for himself. He stunned Dominick Reyes at UFC 253 to finally capture the prestigious UFC gold.
However, Adesanya presents opponents with a unique challenge, as he is perhaps the most decorated striker in the history of the UFC. Furthermore, there will be a size disparity in the UFC 259 main event. So, it will truly be a battle between David and Goliath at the UFC Apex this weekend.
