UFC 260: Modestas Bukauskas vs Michal Oleksiejczuk

Modestas Bukauskas is coming off a loss to Jimmy Crute via KO in his last outing back from October 2020. ‘The Baltic Warrior’ enters into each fight with a ‘kill or be killed’ mentality that has served him well thus far. Prior to the defeat to Crute, Modestas Bukauskas was on a 7-fight win streak that dated back to March 2018.

13 out of his 14 professional fights haven’t gone the distance and earning stoppages is second nature to him. Moreover, he’s able to mix up his offense to both striking and grappling, thus keeping his opponents on his toes. His battle with Oleksiejczuk is a pick-em’ in every sense of the word and comes in as a freight train collision.

Michael Oleksiejczuk is coming off two back-to-back submission losses to Jimmy Crute and Ovince St-Preux. Besides having a common opponent in Crute. Oleksiejczuk’s fighting style is very similar to that of Bukauskas. However, Michal Oleksiejczuk’s defensive game leaves plenty to be desired.

He’s rather overzealous on the ground and this has come to haunt him, especially against adept grapplers. He won’t be overly concerned about being taken down by Modestas Bukauskas as a stand-up war is what’s on the cards. However, he’ll give himself the best possible chance if he trades in the pocket responsibly.
