UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush made waves with his dominant win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 262. Dariush, who came in as the number 9 ranked lightweight, stepped out of the cage with a spot in the top five. Through the fight, he out-landed Ferguson with strikes and grappled him into the canvas decisively.

Following his statement win over ‘El Cucuy’, a fired-up Dariush took to the mic and made a call-out. However, his call-out wasn’t directed to a fellow lightweight contender. Instead, he took aim at Tesla’s billionaire CEO Elon Musk. Beneil Dariush wasn’t too pleased with Musk as the Tesla car that he had ordered a while back still hadn’t arrived.

The fighter hilariously said, “I wanna call somebody out. Joe [Rogan], I wanna call out your buddy Elon, Elon Musk. Where’s my wife’s car bro? I’ve been waiting six months. I need a good car. S*** I got to protect my daughter. Let’s go Elon, get me my car.”

Beneil Dariush x Elon Musk: The banter continues

Dariush sparked a sense of amusement from fans following his call-out. Surprisingly enough, he got a response from Elon Musk. The South African-born billionaire was clearly amused with Dariush’s off the walls post-fight call-out. In turn, Dariush acknowledged Musk’s tweet, and it seems like he’s ready to bury the hatchet.

With his car troubles now behind him, Beneil Dariush will turn his attention towards the shark-infested waters of the lightweight division. His win over top 5 ranked Ferguson means he is staring down the barrel of some massive fights. However, he’s been on record saying that he’s more than ready for the challenge of a title fight.

Dariush will have his sights set on the match-up between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor at UFC 264. Facing the loser of that fight would do wonders in bolstering his profile amongst the casual fanbase. However, in the event that the aforementioned ideal scenario doesn’t play out, there are many other viable match-ups. Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje are two more realistic opponents who could be next for Dariush.
