Two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes spoke to the press on media day for UFC 269 where she defends her bantamweight title. Nunes takes on fiery contender Julianna Pena, who is keen to make her mark in her title fight opportunity. However, if the past is any indication, ‘The Lioness’ will look to maul her opponent from start to finish.

Additionally, Nunes was asked about her plans for the 145-pound division. The featherweight division is currently dormant and is bereft of any active contenders. However, Nunes wants to hold on to the belt to retain her ‘champ-champ’ status. Moreover, she revealed how she has found it hard to make the bantamweight limit in the past.

It’s clear that Amanda Nunes is holding onto the featherweight strap as a contingency in case her time at bantamweight is cut short. However, considering the ease with which she made the weight recently, it appears she can continue her reign at 135-pounds. With her nutrition now on track, Nunes is as dangerous now as she’s ever been.
