GLENDALE, ARIZONA – JUNE 12: Brandon Moreno of Mexico celebrates after defeating Deiveson Figueiredo of Brazil to win the flyweight championship during their UFC 263 match at Gila River Arena on June 12, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona.
‘The Assassin Baby’ showed Figueiredo that he can absorb his best punch and keep on moving forward with relentless pressure. Given the dynamicity of his movements and intent in the striking department, Moreno will be favored to replicate his success from the second fight. Moreno is able to set up his strikes off well-placed leg kicks and he’ll favor his odds from the center of the cage.
Deiveson Figueiredo was on an absolute tear before facing off against Moreno. The Brazilian fighter had racked up a 5-0-1 record before losing to Moreno and he had beaten some stellar competition on route to capturing gold. Top contenders like Alexandre Pantoja and Joseph Benavidez all fell to ‘Daico’ as he seemed unstoppable.

Figueiredo will likely have the power advantage over Moreno and he’s known to stalk his opponents, pushing them against the cage. Moreover, he’s in phenomenal shape with a lean physique and he’ll be expecting to be more efficient with his energy. His loss to Moreno at UFC 263 came in large part due to the fact that he gassed out severely.
