Sometimes, our favorite fighters are bound with contracts that limit their opportunities. This is especially true for UFC fighters. Fans are all aware that the contract that UFC creates for its fighters does not allow them to fight anybody outside of the promotion. This even resulted in Francis Ngannou recently getting released from the UFC. The issue with such a rule is that the fighters do not have the freedom to choose their fights outside the league. Hence, UFC fighters cannot go against fighters from other MMA promotions. This is no exception for the UFC Middleweight champion, Alex Pereira. The Brazilian powerhouse gets ready for any fight thrown his way. However, this new fight is pretty much out of his league.

Bellator, UFC’s ultimate rival promotion, also homes some amazing fighters. Moreover, the fighters are allowed to have cross-promotional fights. Due to the promotions business model, its fighters also go ahead to call out UFC’s fighters. Recently, in an interview, Bellator’s current Middleweight champion, Johnny Eblen, mentioned how he wants to fight Alex Pereira. Going ahead, he also felt he could win the hypothetical fight.

The mention of the UFC itself is exciting, and what he said further makes everything much more entertaining. Eblen’s plan to win over the Brazilian is, “me overwhelming him with my style, my pressure, my wrestling.” The Bellator champion went ahead to give the minute details.

I’d out-wrestle him for sure. Probably submit him. He wouldn’t know how to get up. He wouldn’t be able to get away from me,” added Eblen. The fighter also respects Pereira for his experience and lethality. ‘Poatan’ was called “one of the best kickboxers in the world” in the same interview by the Bellator champion. He sees his wrestling skills as an upside to Pereira’s kickboxing and thinks that would win him the fight.

Although ‘Poatan’ is still new to MMA, he has been kickboxing for quite a long while. The UFC fighter knows the tricks to KO his opponents. Although the fight still remains hypothetical in the near future as well, fans can count on Pereira’s experience and deadly nature. The fighter seems to have new things coming up.
