At Bellator 264, fans witnessed Raufeon Stots emerging victorious in his bantamweight clash against Magomed Magomedov. Following his victory, ‘Supa’ made some intriguing comments, on which the former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan had a hilarious response.

In an evenly matched bout, Stots displayed his elite grappling and striking skills and appeared to be in control for most of the fight. As a result, ‘Supa’ claimed a unanimous decision victory having the judges scoring the contest 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27 in his favor.

In the Bellator 264 post-fight press conference, Stots made some bold statements while referring to Petr Yan’s fight with Magomedov.

Back in March 2016, Yan clashed against Magomedov at ACB 32. The bout was scheduled for the then-vacant ACB bantamweight championship title. The fight resulted in a split decision loss for Yan.

Then, a year later, ‘No Mercy’ avenged his loss against Magomedov at ACB 57 in April 2017. He won the rematch via unanimous decision and became the new ACB bantamweight champion.

While referring to Yan’s fight with Magomedov, Stots said – “I feel like I have to claim now to say; ‘I am the best in the world’; This guy beat Petr Yan, who I still regard as like, the champion of the UFC. He went one on one with this guy, and I kinda dismantled Magomed. So, I feel like I am the best in the world… I am the best bantamweight in the word”.

Following Stots’ comments, Yan had a hilarious response. ‘No Mercy’ made a Tweet saying – “You got slept by decision machine Merab in 15 seconds lol”.

Who is the fighter Petr Yan referred to while trolling Raufeon Stots? And why?

The fighter Yan referred to is Mirab Dvalishvili, who currently competes in the UFC bantamweight division. As of August 2021, Dvalishvili is #11 in the UFC bantamweight rankings

Dvalishvili clashed against Stots back in June 2017 at the Ring of Combat 59. It was the former’s first ROC bantamweight championship title defense.

The fight resulted in Dvalishvili successfully defending his title as he knocked out ‘Supa’ in just 15 seconds of the first round by landing a vicious spinning back fist. Moreover, it’s the first and only professional loss of Stots’ career to this day.

Dvalishvili has a spectacular professional MMA record of 13-4. However, he is a fighter who is not known as a knockout artist. In fact, out of his 13 victories, over 76% of them have come via decision (10). Thus, Yan referred to Dvalishvili while he trolled Stots.
