Conor McGregor came into the UFC and announced he was there to take over and did exactly that. Millions of people including, sports icons and Hollywood celebrities witnessed his meteoric rise. Multi-time Mr. Olympia and the Terminator famed Arnold Schwarzenegger once wrote a column to hail the former two-weight UFC champion.

On Twitter, ‘Arnie’ posted, “Here’s why I think @TheNotoriousMMA belongs in the @TIME 100.” And shared the link to the article.

Inside the article, Schwarzenegger reflected upon the legendary career of ‘The Notorious’. After calling him a ‘rare personality’, ‘The Running Man’ wrote, “[Conor McGregor] has become bigger than his sport [MMA]. That lean, compact body must struggle to keep his enormous character inside.”
Anytime a conversation floats about an athlete surpassing their sport, it’s a big occasion. Even though the sport doesn’t depend upon any one athlete, this notion usually reflects the greatness of the athlete.

Anyhow, coming from a bodybuilding background, Austrian Oak was no stranger to the mind of a competitor. Thus, he wrote, “I can tell you that what you see on the screen—the now familiar face of mixed martial arts—just scratches the surface.”
Time 2017 list had some big-name sports personalities – Tom Brady, LeBron James, Colin Kaepernick, Simone Biles, and Neymar, to name a few. Even the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump was on the list.
Conor McGregor had a no-context tweet to Arnold Schwarzenegger
The Governator, who made nearly $50 million from the Terminator series, once also labeled his Irish friend from the street of Crumlin – McGregor-nator.

Schwarzenegger, who has been around many combat sports stars, once also had a wholesome meeting with McGregor ahead of his first UFC championship bout, where the Irishman explained to him about his fight preparation.
These two appeared to share a very cordial bond. Earlier this year, the self-proclaimed Face of the Fight Game posted a tweet to Conon the Governor. Interestingly, McGregor provided little to his tweet apart from a regular question, “What’s up @Schwarzenegger!”

Since McGregor was recovering from a knee injury and riding a bicycle, perhaps the message was – ‘I’ll be back’ – a famous quote from the Terminator star.
