Deontay Wilder’s extravagant walkout attracted a lot of heat from a number of individuals. UFC President Dana White, prominent YouTuber Logan Paul and recently fellow heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic are some of them.

In conversation with Ariel Helwani, Stipe talks about the heavyweight bout between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury. Miocic credits both fighters for the quality of the fight. However, he feels Fury was the better man in the ring that night. He says he would never walk out of the tunnel with such elaborate gear. He looks to focus on the fight rather than indulging in such flamboyant behavior.

“It is what it is. I wouldn’t have made that excuse. First off, I would never walk out with that much gear on. I would just walk out and get ready for the fight. That’s me personally.”- Stipe Miocic

Helwani and Miocic talk about his work as a firefighter as well. Helwani jokes about how his firefighter suit possibly weighs around 40lbs and it must strain him physically while climbing up trees and saving people. However, Miocic clarifies that Firefighters are not the ones climbing trees. Miocic goes on to talk about the gear that they sport on a regular basis.

The pair talk about the possibility of a crossover battle between the two heavyweight title holders, Miocic and Tyson Fury. However, the kind of fight Fury has in mind is not something that Miocic is interested in but is willing to take on Fury as a challenge.
