The reigning Flyweight Champion of the UFC Brandon Moreno got to meet the face of Mexico. Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, arguably one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters the country has ever produced, and the world has ever seen.

Canelo Alvarez is currently the unified Super Middleweight World Champion. Brandon Moreno got a chance to train and learn with Canelo. They both showed great love and mutual respect for each other from the moment Moreno stepped into the gym. Former unified World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz Jr. also shared the gym with them.

Stepping into the Lion’s cage 

As soon as Brandon Moreno stepped into the Super middleweights gym, his mouth was wide open in an expression of awe. Right in front of him as he entered was a picture of Canelo with a crown on his head, with a mean mug on his face.

Moreno looked like a kid in a candy shop. What else would you expect from a Mexican that grew up watching Canelo fight? Canelo is known to be sweet and humble outside the ring, he’s the exact opposite inside of it. Canelo and his team then greeted him, exchanging pleasantries.

He is fresh off a win against Billy Joe Saunders, looking for the next opponent he wants to dismantle. We know the champion for his incredible work ethic. Brandon Moreno is also on a high after recently being crowned the flyweight champ, looking for his first title defense.

Brandon Moreno has an unexpected admirer 

Moreno got the shock of his life when Canelo told him, he watched a video of Moreno talking about him and got goosebumps. “I saw on TikTok that you were talking about me, and I got goosebumps, that’s what we’re here for, to support each other, and whenever you want to come train you’re invited.”

Moreno was humbled and replied saying thank you so so much, after which he received an open invitation to train at Canelos San Diego gym whenever he wanted. What more could a young champion like Moreno ask for? To train alongside Canelo Alvarez.
