Jake Paul had a great 2021. The YouTuber turned boxer went 3-0 and made a lot of money from the fights. ‘The Problem Child’ defeated MMA legends Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley (2) with his last win being a brutal KO win over Woodley.

Since the win, Paul has talked about taking some time off boxing and hasn’t been training at all. According to him, there is no opponent in mind as of now. However, while talking to Ariel Helwani, they touched upon Anderson Silva probably being his next opponent. Paul, who would be interested in that fight, also shared an interesting story about ‘The Spider.’

He said, “Yes, definitely, definitely. I would love that fight and interesting story. I think he was the first celebrity I ever saw. Right when MMA was blowing up. My dad was like a super big fan, and we went to this local MMA event and they must’ve paid Anderson Silva to come because it was in Ohio. So, like, I don’t know why he would’ve been there.”

“I actually asked for his autograph and we took a picture with him… I’m like maybe like 12 years old. But I think he was the first celebrity that I met. So it would be fun to bring it back full circle and fight, I guess, someone who was one of my first idols.”

Silva, one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, has recently switched over to professional boxing. A fight between the two could be an interesting one, with many believing that the Brazilian will be a tough opponent for Paul.

Jake Paul may look to prove Dana White wrong

Anderson Silva has made a successful transition into professional boxing. After being one of the greatest in MMA, he returned to boxing in 2021. Having last competed in the squared circle back in 2005, he made a spectacular return and beat former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via split decision. ‘The Spider’ followed that up with a first-round KO of Tito Ortiz in September 2021.

After his win over Ortiz, UFC President Dana White heaped praise on him but also took a shot at Paul. White batted for Silva being one of the GOATs of combat sports.

He also said, “I f**king guarantee you this, you ain’t gonna see Jake Paul calling Anderson Silva out. That I f**king promise you. He’s his size. And he’s actually good. He’s old, which is what Jake Paul likes to fight old guys. He likes to fight old guys that are too small and that are absolutely, positively washed up.”

White and Paul don’t leave any chance to have a go at each other. Hence, if ‘The Problem Child’ inks a deal against Silva, he will have responded to the UFC President’s views and actually proved him wrong.
