Veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan once went head over heels about God of War. In an episode of his renowned podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, he gushed over the game’s graphics, style, and the female lead, Freya. He even cultivated his preferences after seeing the character.

In episode #1137 of his podcast, Joe featured stand-up comedian Duncan Trussell. In their conversations, Trussel went on about how good the game by Santa Monica Studio is. Seeing his guest so avidly praising the title, Joe requested to pull up footage from the game. He seemed very impressed with the game’s visuals and character designs.
Joe Rogan reacts to God of War
Back in 2018, Santa Monica Studio released their Playstation exclusive, God of War. This installment was the revamp of the highly acclaimed franchise. It reimagined the classic protagonist of the series, Kratos, in a new light and a new setting. Presenting him with the threats of a new pantheon of gods and parenthood.
After setting eyes on the footage of the game, Joe couldn’t stop himself from praising the game. “Did you see what he just did, chopped that dude with an axe” exclaimed Joe watching a fight sequence in the game, “This Is Fu**ing Badass”.

But the graphics and the combat aren’t the only things that intrigued Joe. The character designs, especially of the female lead of the game, Freya, caught his eye. “She is very hot”, said the podcaster. “You think you can hang out with a chick who’s like cut people’s heads off of swords?” Joe asked his guest and the comedian quickly replied, “yes”.

Joe Rogan’s controversy with video games
Although Rogan admired God of War, he had once expressed a serious distaste fore video games. He found himself in a world the controversies when he talked about how video games are a “waste of time”.
“Video games are a real problem You know why? Because they’re f**king fun. You do them, and they’re real exciting, but you don’t get anywhere. Three years later you could just be that same kid, playing video games, waiting for the next whatever the f*** game is…You’re gonna waste your time.” said Joe Rogan.
