UFC Welterweight Jesse Ronson spoke out post-fight following a massive statement performance at UFC Fight Night 174 in Abu Dhabi. The 170-pounder had a hilarious take on athletes fighting outside their natural weight class despite being severely oversized. Not to mention, he used his extensive post-fight platform to call his shot for a lucrative opportunity in his next bout.

The Ontario, Canada native is fresh off his second straight victory in the promotion after submitting Nicholas Dalby. The bout took place on the preliminary section of the fight card inside the Flash Forum on Yas Island. Moreover, with two first-round submission finishes under his, Ronson is on his to building a hefty resume.

Jesse Ronson: “You don’t know me, but you will”

Ronson’s interview after his impressive performance went a long way in boosting his profile in the division. His hilarious take on weight cut made for a solid sound bite, coupled with his mean intentions. He expressed a desire to make a return to action by the end of the year via UFC on BT Sport

“If you’re 6-foot 3 you need to eat something other than lettuce and cubes. Luis Pena and Jalin Turner, those tall guys at 6’3″, at least Mike Vick became a man and he moved up. How can you be 6’3″ and call yourself a lightweight, like dude eat something.”

‘The Body Snatcher’ is a seasoned campaigner with 32 professional fights on his record. He finally made his way back into the promotion after being cut back in 2014 whilst on a 3 fight skid. Since then he has managed to secure quality wins in several promotions and found his way back.

“I love fighting tall guys and I love crushing their guts. So, Luis Pena or Jalen Turner, November or December let’s go. I know you don’t know me, but you will.”

Given his career resurgence, it is easy to see why Jesse Ronson is keen to make a swift return. The 34-year old professional will be looking to make up for lost time away from the leading MMA promotion. Not to mention he intends to make a serious run towards the 170-pound gold strap
