Deiveson Figueiredo picked up a first-round submission victory over perennial contender Joseph Benavidez in the third event at Abu Dhabi. Additionally, the fight marked the second headlining feature for newly minted champion Figueiredo.

UFC correspondent Megan Olivi took to Twitter and showed support for her husband, Joseph Benavidez. Despite his brilliance in the weight class, he is now 0-4 in title fights under the promotional banner.
Former two divisional champion, Daniel Cormier, was quick to chime in on social media and has sung Figueiredo’s praises. Chiefly, he expressed his views on the utter dominance the champion displayed in his scheduled bout.
