Corey Anderson vs Jan Blachowicz (Main Event)
In less than 3 days, Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz will square off once again in the main event of UFC Fight Night 167. Both fighters are at the top of the heap in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. The winner of this fight will likely be the next #1 contender for the light heavyweight championship.
Anderson is coming off an impressive victory over Johnny Walker. The American is currently riding a four-fight win streak. Blachowicz, on the other hand, came under the spotlight when he brutally knocked out former middleweight Luke Rockhold. It’s a classic striker vs wrestler matchup between the two. Anderson has high chances of winning the fight due to his pressure heavy wrestling. Although, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Blachowicz catching Anderson with a heavy shot.
UFC Fight Night 167: Corey Anderson vs Jan Balchowicz: UFC Fighters’ Predictions
Diego Sanchez Vs Michel Pereira (Co-Main Event)
In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 167, veteran Diego Sanchez will take on Michel Pereira in a welterweight showdown. Sanchez is coming off a decision loss to Michael Chiesa, a fight in which he was severely undersized. Pereira, on the other hand, is also coming off a loss against Tristan Connelly. Perreira gassed out early due to excessive showboating with gymnastics.
Should Pereira repeat the same antics, he will be in for a tough fight. Sanchez’s relentless grappling will eventually tire out Pereira. However, if Pereira fights smartly, he will pick apart Sanchez and eventually stop him by a KO.
Lando Vannata vs Yancy Medeiros (Main Card Opener)
Once considered as top prospect in the lightweight, Lando Vannata returns to the octagon since his loss to Marc Diakiese last September. Vannata may not have the best record in the UFC but he is known to put on a show.
Yancy Medeiros has been absent from the UFC octagon since December 2017. The veteran was able to stop Alex Oliveira at UFC 218 but lost 2 of his last fights against Cerrone and Gillespie. Medeiros got finished in both the fights. This fight will most likely be fireworks as both fighters absorb a lot of damage. Medeiros may start the fight slow due to his long lay off, but eventually, the size and reach will be too much for Vannata to deal with. Medeiros is likely to win via decision.
