Swedish MMA fighter Khamzat Chimaev is on an absolute roll at present. The fighter who competed at Middleweight on the UFC Fight Night Kattar vs Ige on July 16 stepped in as a short-notice replacement for UFC Fight Night 174. On the night he defeated Rys Mckee at Welterweight to earn a second stoppage win in under 10 days on Fight Island.

Chimaev started off in style and took the battle to his opponent. Within half a minute he had McKee on the ground and continued to punch him. He did not let up and after a point, ‘Skeletor’ was unable to defend himself. This prompted a referee stoppage. Chimaev landed 68 unanswered strikes in his match.

In the post-fight interview, via UFC on Twitter, ‘Borz’ seemed game for another fight on the night given that he worked for a mere 189 seconds. He said, “I don’t know, I can fight after 1 hour maybe. If you give me one fight and someone is injured just tell me. I’m here in Abu Dhabi. I’m gonna smash everybody.”

Khamzat Chimaev wants to fight more

When questioned about the move to Welterweight the fighter promised that he would smash everybody.

“Doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter, everybody I’m gonna smash everybody. How many fighters in my division. I smash all my division.”

One cannot fault, Chimaev for exhibiting such confidence as he is undefeated and holds the record for the shortest duration between 2 wins in the UFC. However, he may have to wait more than 9 days for another fight. Nevertheless, he once again said that he wants to fight more.

“I want to fight today also… I want fighting one more.”

Furthermore, the Swedish fighter said that his opponents are not on his level. And in conclusion, he even called out the champions of the “77 kg and 84 kg” division. 

He said, “Everybody knows these guys, not my level, that all I can say. But who training with me everyone knows what’s my level. Give me champion 84 kg, 77 kg I smash both of them same day.”
