UFC bantamweight, Adrian Yanez, closed out a chapter filled with bad blood against Gustavo Lopez at UFC Fight Night. The bout took place on the main card headlined by Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland. Adrian Yanez used the exposure to his advantage.

The fight was a close back-and-forth affair right from the get-go as both men threw heavy strikes from the outset. Additionally, there was clear enforcement of game plans being put forth by both MMA coaches. However, Yanez put an impressive stamp on the win and solidified his status as a mainstay contender.

Moreover, the recent title fight debacle simply served as a means for fighters to do the honorable thing. As Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan duke it out again, several other bantamweights will take inspiration to be great.

Adrian Yanez is now on a six-fight winning streak, and he’s making a name for himself in the bantamweight division. He’s looking to enter the top-heavy bantamweight division and claim a spot at the top. A stoppage win over a former Combate Americas champion will surely solidify his place amongst the 135-pound ranks.

As for Gustavo Lopez, he’s heading to the drawing board and is now 1-2 in the UFC. His run has left plenty to be desired, and he’ll look to gain some stability in his UFC run from now on. What’s more, UFC heavyweight brawler, Derrick Lewis, got onto Twitter and sent a shout-out to Yanez. This is a high honor coming from ‘The Beast Beast’ who is a savant when it comes to landing the KO blow.

The UFC roster is taking notice of Adrian Yanez and the skill set he possesses right from the jump against game opponents. It’s a matter of time before Yanez is matched up with fighters who will help to bring him into mainstream contender status.
