Derrick Lewis aims for his next target
Lewis was at his comedic best while speaking to the media ahead of his upcoming fight. He made sure to put in a call-out of someone he hasn’t fought yet in the UFC. Chiefly, he took aim at decorated heavyweight striker, Alistair Overeem, in one of his most hilarious call-outs yet. However, there’s undoubtedly some heat simmering between the two heavyweights below the surface.

“I really did wanted to fight before the year was over with kinda. Just because I really wanted to fight Overeem before he fought again because Overeem’s been talking a lot of smack. Like I’m telling everybody, I don’t talk trash to fighters and calling them out this and that. Whenever I hear them talking trash to me, then I say something back.”
“Other than that I’m not worried about what’s going on with UFC fighters I’m not keeping up with these guys…if Overeem watching this, you still got it, so do not hang them up yet because I really want a piece of that. Clap them cheeks, no homo.”

Derrick Lewis clearly feels a certain way about ‘The Demolition Man’ and wants to fight him even though he’s fresh off a loss. Not to mention, he’s got his hands full with a fighter who offers a totally different style to Overeem.
‘Razor’ Blaydes hasn’t lost to anyone except Francis Ngannou at the very top, and Lewis can stamp his golden ticket with a statement win. However, an Overeem vs Lewis fight would be captivating, to say the least. Should the UFC book it?
