Frankie Edgar came back with a bang as he delivered an exceptional performance against Pedro Munhoz.
The two went at it for five rounds straight in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs Edgar. The legend of Frankie Edgar proved just why he is one of the most dangerous men on the planet.
In a grueling bout that went to the judges’ scorecards, Pedro and Edgar delivered what fight fans and pundits call a good old dog fight.

Edgar faced a lot of apprehension from mixed crowds going into the fight. This was largely due to his age. However, the 38-year-old gave a crisp message to all those who cast shadows of doubt upon him in the post-fight interview. He said,
“It’s good to be on the winning side. That was a hell of a fight, Pedro is a stud. I heard a lot of ‘MFers’ barking that I’m old. I’m slow. I definitely proved them all wrong.”
Nevertheless, it surely was not an easy victory for Frankie!

The fight saw Munhoz take major control of the Octagon. However, Frankie was quick on his feet and did not let Octagon control turn into a huge advantage.

Nevertheless, Edgar received his fair share of damage too. Pedro destroyed Edgar’s legs with consistent and powerful leg kicks, thus working the striking department into his favor.
However, Edgar executed two takedowns, adding to his tally of scores. The back-and-forth war ended in a split decision victory in favor of Edgar.
With this, Frankie accomplished the landmark of being successful in 3 weight divisions. After all, his win over B. J. Penn – making him the UFC Lightweight champion – is what cemented his name in the books of history.
Thereafter, he went down to 145, and now, 135. But where will he fight next? Answering the question, he said,
“I still got some fight in this time, maybe. And, we’re gonna make a run at 135. He [Pedro] was number 5, and that might put me right in the top 5.”
